Tonight I am excited to be joining President Trump at the White House to watch him accept the Republican nomination for President of the United States.
First, it is a great honor to be invited but second, know that as I attend I am mindful that it is you who I am representing. Every day I spend in Washington I am reminded of the distinct privilege I have to represent the interest of the 6th Congressional District.
There will be fireworks after the speech and a great deal of excitement leading up to the moment President Trump takes the stage. But what I want you to remember is that through the tough times our country has faced in recent days, the American people are resilient.
Recently I penned an opinion piece that says what I’m feeling now:
“...as insurmountable as our current challenges seem, the history of American ingenuity and perseverance leave me confident that these trying times will soon be behind us. After all, Americans have been tested time and time again in ways we never thought possible, and we have always come out on the other side a stronger nation.”
The policies that made our economy the strongest it has ever been will be the policies that bring us back from this crisis!
