It’s official, friends: For the first time in history, the Republican party has nominated an impeached president for reelection.
Not just any impeached president, but one who continually abuses his power, uses the White House for his personal financial gain and seems more interested in tweeting than in leading the country through a pandemic.
But all that corruption doesn’t bother the GOP. Just look at what’s happening in our country right now: Republicans are joining forces with President Trump to undermine mail-in voting, close polling places and purge voter records. Yet in his convention speech, the president baselessly accused Democrats of creating a “rigged election” – a blatant and hypocritical lie.
The president is what I would call a "habitual offender" during my time in law enforcement. Someone who has lied again and again and proven that they have no respect for the law – someone who will do anything to game the system.
That’s why it’s so critical that we maintain our House majority and safeguard our institutions from the stain of President Trump's dangerous, anti-democratic agenda. Protecting our democracy starts here in Florida – but right when the RNC is attacking me personally and the president has launched a bus tour in our state to rally his base, we're on track to miss our end-of-month fundraising goal.
This close to Election Day, missing goals can make or break campaigns and our majority with it. So please, friends, if you value policies like affordable health care and fighting voter suppression, I’m counting on you to step up immediately and defend our House majority, before it’s too late:
Rush $5 by midnight tonight to fight back against President Trump's dangerous agenda, win in Florida and keep the House blue. Every dollar you give goes immediately to making sure the president can't silence our voices or destroy the only firewall against his corruption.
