Team,
I made an extremely difficult decision six years ago today.
After months of bullying, intimidation, and retaliation from the White House, I submitted my resignation from the U.S. Army.
This wasn’t an easy call. I dedicated 21 years to serving our nation — under presidents of both parties — and put my life on the line to defend our Constitution. I had no plans to retire.
That is, until President Trump made me his #1 enemy.
Months earlier, I witnessed Donald Trump’s so-called “perfect phone call” with Ukrainian President Zelenskyy. As I sat in the Situation Room, I witnessed Trump demand Ukraine do him a “favor” and find damning information on President Joe Biden.
My heart sank. With the 2020 election right around the corner, Donald Trump invited a foreign government to dig up “whatever you can” to investigate an American citizen and smear a political rival for his own benefit.
This was corruption at its worst. So after reporting the phone call to the proper authorities in the White House, I testified in front of the House of Representatives.

That decision changed my life forever. It led to the president’s first impeachment — and subsequently his retribution campaign against me and my family. After months of relentless attacks, I was forced to retire and end my 21-year Army career.
I knew the risk I was taking by standing up to Trump. But as someone who served for decades in the U.S. Army, I fell back on my oath to defend our Constitution and protect our country. I refuse to let anybody — including Donald Trump and his minions — stand in the way of that oath.
The fight to defend our democracy isn’t over, which is why I recently made another decision: I am running for the United States Senate in Florida.
The Senate majority will come down to my race in Florida. The latest polls show that we can flip this seat blue and protect our democracy in the Senate…but I cannot do it alone.
So, I am asking: Will you donate to my campaign for Senate today? We need to raise another $70,000 before midnight to stay on track with our July fundraising goal.

Thank you.
