On July 29, 2026, we’re making some changes to our Google Play Terms of
Service.
You can review the new terms here
<[link removed]>.
At a glance, here’s what this update means for you:
• Third-Party Fees: We added language to clarify that you are responsible
for any third-party fees you incur, including for installation and
maintenance on your device of Content and Google Play.
• System Services: We added language explaining that Google’s system
services (which provide services/updates on certified Android devices) may
require a network connection and may use your cellular data.
• Account Sharing: We added language to clarify that you are responsible
for any issues with your account that result from you sharing your account
details in violation of the terms.
• Subscription Management: We added language explaining that you remain
responsible for balances in your Play account if we are unable to charge
your designated payment method.
If you use Family Link to manage a Google Account for someone else, please
take some time to talk to them about these changes.
Thank you for using Google Play!
