Jack xxxxxx,

Today I’m calling on Texas lawmakers to tighten gun laws in our state and convene a special session to address the gun safety crisis after yet another mass shooting yesterday in Odessa and Midland—marking the 25th mass shooting in the country this year and coming just a month after a gunman killed 22 people in El Paso.

Adding insult to injury, Texas lawmakers in the face of an unprecedented rise in the frequency of mass shootings here in Texas and around the country have passed eight new laws that will loosen gun restrictions.

Those laws go into effect today, Jack xxxxxx.

Will you join me by adding your name to this petition to tell Texas lawmakers: take action and convene a special session to address the gun safety crisis.

Indeed these are scary times for our country—and at least in combat we knew who the enemy was. There’s a sinister hate and vitriol in our country that’s given power by nearly unlimited and open access to weapons of war and our lawmakers don’t give a damn. Congress must act but today I’m calling on Texas lawmakers to convene a special session to address the gun safety crisis.

It’s one thing when you can’t stand up, it’s another when you refuse to stand up for Texans.

Today I say enough is enough. We all have a voice—let’s use it today and everyday until we are heard.
