As we wrap up this month, I’m thinking about everything we’ve accomplished this August and how close we are to the biggest election of our lifetime. I’m so proud of our team, and how fearless you all have been standing against injustice occurring across our country and fighting for the future we deserve.

Together, we are building the grassroots power we need to defeat Trump and put an end to Trumpism on November 3rd. 

But there’s one last favor I want to ask of you before August ends. This movement is doing incredible work — but with the election less than 10 weeks away, we need to take our organizing work to the next level.

What we do in these next 10 weeks will ultimately determine our fate on November 3rd. 

We’re leaving no stone unturned. We cannot afford to wait and see which one of Trump’s avoidable crises kills us. There is too much at stake to not give 110% of our energy into defeating Trump. We can’t take anything for granted — especially since our opponent has made it clear he’ll break any rule to sway the election in his favor. 

We made big strides in August building our organizing power, recruiting volunteers, and reaching out to voters in battleground states. In fact, we crashed the website the first day we launched our text bank and have sent over 750,000 texts helping women register to vote.

But we can’t celebrate our wins yet. Trump’s friends are doing the same for him and we must keep expanding our work if we want to compete and win.

That’s why reaching this $115,000 goal by the end of August is critical. This might seem like a lot of money to raise, but there’s a lot of us, John. If everyone reading this chips in $5 we would instantly hit our goal.

We knew that 2020 would be a defining year for our country. We don’t have to agree on everything to band together to fight for what will save us, because there’s more on the line than we could have imagined.
