Team—
Banning abortion and putting women’s health and lives at risk isn’t enough for anti-abortion extremists.
Now, anti-abortion politicians want to punish women who get abortions by throwing them in jail.
Abortion is healthcare. It should be unthinkable for someone to face prison time for accessing basic reproductive care and exercising their bodily autonomy.
Add your name if you agree that women should not be prosecuted for having an abortion!
Prominent anti-abortion leaders and politicians have called for states to remove legal protections for women who get abortions—and Texas has answered the call, with lawmakers now debating repealing those protections and subjecting women who get abortions to criminal penalties.
Too many people have already had to flee their states to seek abortion care after they were pushed to the brink of death. Extremists would seek to prosecute and punish these women for saving their own lives.
We cannot allow this dangerous rhetoric to move forward. We must show that the public rejects this dangerous agenda.
Sign the petition now and send a clear message: pregnant people should never be treated like criminals for making decisions about their own bodies or their health.
In solidarity,
Center for Reproductive Rights
P.S. Today, it’s Texas. Tomorrow, this cruel agenda could come to your state. We can never let it get that far. Help us send a message now: our bodies are our own, not crime scenes that need to be policed.
