Prominent anti-abortion leaders and politicians have called for states to remove legal protections for women who get abortions—and Texas has answered the call, with lawmakers now debating repealing those protections and subjecting women who get abortions to criminal penalties.

Too many people have already had to flee their states to seek abortion care after they were pushed to the brink of death. Extremists would seek to prosecute and punish these women for saving their own lives.

We cannot allow this dangerous rhetoric to move forward. We must show that the public rejects this dangerous agenda.
