Apologies in advance for the cold email, but someone said I should introduce myself to you. 

My name is Houston Gaines. I was born and raised in Athens, Georgia. I’m a son to two hard-working parents, and a husband to an even harder-working wife.

My family has had its roots in the Peach State since the late 1700’s, and I’m proud to call myself an 8th-generation northeast Georgian.

The reason I’m emailing you right now goes all the way back to 2017. 

(This isn’t as long a story as you may think, so keep reading)

I was twenty-two years old, young, starry-eyed, hungry to make a mark on this country and deliver for the community I love. I decided to run for office. 

This set me down a path I never expected to be on.

I won my first election in 2018, and throughout my years in the State House, I sponsored over 20 bills, including spearheading efforts to ensure our state government cooperates in enforcing the Laken Riley Act. Thanks to this, ICE arrests in Georgia have increased nearly 400%.

Now, I’m ready for the next chapter. 

As much as it will pain me to spend time away from Georgia, our Republican majority sinks or swims depending on what happens here in Georgia’s 10th Congressional District.

That’s why I stepped up, and I’m officially running for Congress in one of THE MOST contested districts across the entire country. 

To be honest with you, I never expected to run for Congress, and if you were to tell 22-year-old me I’d be getting an endorsement from Donald J. Trump in the most important election of our lives, I would have called you a liar.

I’ve got the President of the United States, the Speaker of the House, and hopefully YOU, Patriot, along with me for the ride. 

But it’s not all good news.

When I was campaigning for State House, I never spent too much time fundraising; my donors were always there for me, always helped, and we had a pretty clear-cut strategy for winning our elections.

But take it from me, running for Congress is a different beast. 

The stakes are higher, and there are more eyes on me than ever before.

I don’t just have the Atlanta political machine all over me; I’ve even got the Democrat establishment in Washington trying everything they can to take me down. 

Let me make one thing clear: there’s nothing I hate more than fundraising, and I hate to ask…

But our small-dollar donors will be CRUCIAL to this campaign.

Today I’m humbly asking you to make a small-dollar donation to my campaign before MIDNIGHT TONIGHT.

Not only because we need to secure our Republican Majority.

Not only because we need to prevent the Left from impeaching President Trump.

But because it’s the right thing to do. If we hand over power to the Democrats, we have surrendered our country.
