Dear John,

Tomorrow, many of us will take the day to reflect on the 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

The declaration was signed with the belief that power is granted with the consent of the governed.

The nascent United States did not initially live up to that ideal, but our nation’s history is the story of expanding voting rights , and we’re still working until the day when we can all have a say in our leaders and laws.

VoteRiders — along with our donors, volunteers, and supporters like YOU — play a role in turning American ideals into reality. Together, we work to ensure that all eligible voters are free to participate in political and civic life, even in the face of laws requiring an ID to vote.

On the occasion of the United States’ 250th birthday, I hope you’ll recommit to protecting the freedom to vote with VoteRiders.
