“No one gives a sh*t about housing”

That’s what Donald Trump thinks about Colorado’s housing crisis. His words!

Our state is facing a 100,000-home shortfall. But it’s not robber barons like Donald Trump who are suffering the consequences. It’s the single mom in Lakewood who can’t afford to stay in the community she grew up in. It’s the young couple that’s forced to save up for twenty years just to make a down payment.

I’m sorry to be so crass here — but we need a government that actually gives a sh*t about housing. That’s why I’m so proud Congress passed THREE of my bills to boost access to affordable housing.

I’ll dive into the details in a moment, but we’re not out of this fight yet. Donald Trump is threatening to VETO this legislation unless MAGA Republicans push through a dangerous, revolting attack on your voting rights. Want to know how out-of-touch Donald Trump is when it comes to housing? Congress passed my three bills with overwhelming bipartisan support. Republicans were even bragging about the bill that included my legislation… when Trump was throwing a temper tantrum in the White House.

Here’s the details:

* My Streamlining Rural Housing Act will reduce repetitive federal regulations that often slow affordable housing development in rural communities to a crawl.

* My Housing Supply Frameworks Act will help states and localities reform their zoning policies to encourage the construction of new housing.
*
* My VALID Act will make it easier for servicemembers and veterans to see their VA loan options — which often save families thousands of dollars over the life of the loan — alongside traditional loans.

I even helped lead the negotiations to eliminate a provision that would have blocked homebuilding projects for renters too.

Donald Trump may not give a sh*t about housing. But I know you do. That’s why I’m putting in the work — and yes, even finding ways to work across the aisle — to finally bring some relief to our state.

But we’re not through the wringer yet. We NEED to get these bills passed into law, with NO poison-pill attacks on our democracy included.
