We are once again heartbroken and outraged. A Black man — Jacob Blake — was shot seven times on Sunday in Kenosha, Wisconsin and is now fighting for his life.

As a part of the larger progressive movement in this country, we are committed to helping people fight for racial justice because Black Lives Matter.

This is why today we’re asking if you can spare a $3 donation to the Milwaukee Freedom Fund which is assisting people who are protesting the brutal violence against Jacob. Your contribution will help protestors make bail and also get them connected with lawyers.

Systemic racism is killing Black and Brown people every single day in our country. The institutions that are supposed to protect and serve each of us, are hurting (or even killing) Black people in the streets. We must dismantle these systems that are ravaging our communities by defunding the police and investing in education, mental health services, and other social programs.

Justice Democrats is committed to fighting for racial justice — and right now, that means supporting our brothers and sisters in Kenosha who are seeking justice. People need bail support and we must invest in this community’s immediate and long term fights ahead for justice.
