Dear Supporter,
Erin O’Toole won the Conservative leadership campaign and now we need your help to make sure he delivers on an important promise.
O’Toole was unequivocal: if he became party leader, the Conservatives would stop taking the pandemic wage subsidy. That subsidy was intended for small businesses struggling with the economic shutdown, not for political parties that already receive millions in taxpayer subsidies. So O’Toole promised the Conservative Party would pay back any money it had already taken.
Now O’Toole is the Conservative leader and it’s time for him to keep that promise.
All of the federal parties, except the Bloc, have been taking the pandemic wage subsidies. That’s already cost taxpayers more than $1.8 million. The Conservatives have taken $716,000.
Now O’Toole is leader, and it’s time for him to keep his word.
Can you take three minutes to send a note to O’Toole reminding him to keep his promise to pay back the wage subsidy?
You can email him here: [email protected]
Keeping this straightforward promise is the only way for O’Toole to build trust with taxpayers, so let’s remind him of the commitment he made!
Thanks for everything you do,
- Aaron, Todd, Shannon and the entire CTF team
