Break the Silence with GLSEN and LGBTQ youth.

John, 2020 has been an incredibly challenging year.

This spring, during the COVID pandemic, schools across the country shuttered overnight.

This summer, our country is alive with rage, protest, and reflection. Many are hurting, and all of us experience heartbreak and anger as Black lives are lost to police brutality and systemic oppression.

And yet, there is also progress. The recent Supreme Court Bostock decision affirmed that Title VII of the Civil Rights Act protects all Americans from workplace discrimination. This decision gives hope to LGBTQ youth—and for all LGBTQ people nationwide.

GLSEN is channeling protest and fueling hope with our launch of the Break the Silence: Your Vote, Your Voice campaign. We’re hoping for a once-in-a-generation expansion of participation as young voters help to create the world they want to live in.

John, this voter registration campaign—and the outreach and resources GLSEN shares with LGBTQ students—is only possible because of support from donors like you.

As we work together to transform our country, we’re reminded that many voices in unison can effect change. John, please join us in supporting and empowering LGBTQ youth.

As we all look to the November elections, GLSEN is proudly supporting young Americans as they march to the polls and continue to help move our country forward:

Registering to vote is extremely important because it is the best way to ensure your voice is being heard! Now more than ever we need to be using our voices to help make positive change especially with regard to LGBTQ+ policy. Our voices have power, and we can use them to ensure all LGBTQ+ people have equal protections under the law. –Chris S., NY
