Happy Labor Day friends!

Note from Nika and Invitation

Note from Rep Nika
August 28, 2019

Dear friends,

It was a delight to see so many of you at our friends and family gathering the day after my birthday, also the last day of Session. I’m so excited to celebrate with you and the Frogmore again on September 12th, one year after our victory party!! I’m full of delight and gratitude for our hosts, my partners in local governance— those without an election next month!

At the celebration I’ll update you on our first year, up to August recess.
Check our first Newsletter! I’ll introduce new friends and partnerships, like our own Mayor Walsh, the head host who has been hands on in helping us with everything from jobs access for our constituents to cyclist advocacy to winning support for our signature housing bill. I’ll share how campaign funds enable us to boldly live our progressive values in “off years” like this one when there’s no election. I’ll officially announce my 2019 and 2020 endorsements. And of course we’ll dance, or at least I will!

It’ll be special to come together with new friends and old, as is reflected in our host list. Tito Jackson and Laura Gang from Friends of Roslindale Library are the Team Nika vets. I’m hoping our guest list will similarly reflect many faces of new partners. So, please bring or send a friend.

This celebration kicks off our Team Nika fundraising year. So please
donate. Let us know if you’d like to help make calls, host a party, or recommend potential supporters for me to talk to.

As you’ll see from our newsletter, which only offers highlights, we are engaged in very demanding work in the State House and in the district, and yet there are so many challenging opportunities ahead. We could never do it without your support and without expanding that support. So thank you again for your partnership in the pursuit of true justice and opportunity for all.

Peace and love,

After joining an immigration advocacy delegation to Central America during August recess, hosting a couple of district events for kids, and getting a week of much needed vacation with Marcos, Session starts up again on Tuesday. We’re working hard this Session in the State House and in the district to champion rights for all workers, to keep our constitutional obligation to provide equitable and quality education to all our children, and to make affordable housing a right in Massachusetts.

Check out our newsletter at the link below, along with my note of invitation to our annual September celebration and fundraiser, and a fun upcoming event to experience our districts green spaces!

More updates and fun events to come, stay tuned!
