Our recent partnership with World Central Kitchen in New York City is one of the many IRC programs your doubled gift will support. World Central Kitchen was founded by Chef José Andrés and together we're working to combat food insecurity in communities hardest hit by COVID-19 and its economic effects.
At World Central Kitchen food distribution sites, we're offering up to 2,000 free meals per day, while operating under social distancing guidance to ensure safety for all. Families can receive a week's worth of food for each member of their household, which minimizes the need to leave their homes and alleviates budget concerns. This partnership also provides a source of income for resettled refugees, who help package and distribute the free meals.
But, our work doesn't stop there. In over 20 U.S. cities and 40 countries, IRC staff and volunteers are on the front lines supporting their neighbors and helping refugees survive this pandemic.
