John,
At a time where we’re seeing a nationwide call for desperately-needed reforms to stop systemic racism and the killing of Black men and women at the hands of police, it’s critical that we increase representation of diverse communities at all levels of government.
This November, we have the chance to elect more Black members of Congress than ever before. That’s why I’m endorsing and asking you to support three promising Democratic candidates: Dr. Cameron Webb, Pat Timmons-Goodson, and Desiree Tims.

Dr. Cameron Webb is running for Congress in Virginia’s 5th district because he believes access to affordable healthcare is a defining issue of our time, and he’s ready to fight for it in Washington. Cameron’s parents always told him, “Be there for people.” That’s what he’s done as a doctor, a lawyer, and a healthcare advisor under President Obama, and it’s what he hopes to do for all Virginians in the House.
Pat Timmons-Goodson has spent her life breaking down barriers, and now she’s running to represent North Carolina’s 8th congressional district in what’s become the state’s most competitive U.S. House race. Pat made history by becoming the first African-American woman on the Supreme Court of North Carolina in 2006. After working on the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, she was nominated by President Obama in 2016 to serve as a federal judge – but her nomination was blocked by Republican Senators Richard Burr and Mitch McConnell. Now, she wants to take her fight to ensure equality and combat discrimination to the halls of Congress.
And in Ohio’s 10th district, Desiree Tims – a proud product of Dayton Public Schools who went on to volunteer for the 2008 Obama campaign and work in the White House and on Capitol Hill – is running to give her community real representation and leadership in Congress. Desiree will go to bat for her fellow Ohioans by working to make sure that regions like Dayton receive the federal resources and investments needed to help families recover after tornadoes, obtain quality jobs with great pay, access health care that works, and provide quality public schools that prepare our young people for the future.
These three Democratic leaders are taking on Republican incumbents in their districts, hoping to flip these seats from red to blue and provide long overdue representation in Congress.
Help them succeed on November 3rd and ensure we more than defend our House Majority — we expand it with diverse new leadership: split a contribution to our campaigns today ahead of Monday’s end-of-month deadline.
