On this fourth night of the Republican National Convention, we will be joined by progressive champions from across the country to discuss the importance of building a nationwide movement that will fight for progressive policies after Trump is beaten.

Building a movement is only one phase of our four-point plan.
The first and most immediately critical part is to beat Trump in November and stop the rise of American fascism. We must take that momentum to 200 pivot counties throughout the Midwest — places that voted for Barack Obama in 2012 and for Donald Trump in 2016 — and flip them back because if Trump wins in November, all the progress we’ve made will be in jeopardy.
We’re already doing that in states like Wisconsin, Ohio, and Michigan by showing the true impact of Trump’s broken promises and demonstrating how our ideas will bring back jobs, eliminate income inequality, and achieve justice for all of us.
We also must elect progressive champions who will stand up to corporate power in Congress. From Marie Newman in Illinois and Cori Bush in Missouri, to AOC and Jamaal Bowman in New York, we’ve taken out establishment incumbents who answered to corporate lobbyists over constituents.

And, harnessing all of that success, our final task is to continue to expand our movement. As Bernie said: “At its most basic, this election is about preserving our democracy.” That is why we must come together and elect Joe Biden. But that doesn’t mean that when Joe Biden moves into the White House, we won’t demand a progressive agenda from day one.
At the same time, we will continue our efforts to move the Democratic Party to the left!
