There's no way to sugarcoat this, folks: Fundraising has been slow to start this month.
We knew that starting the month off on a holiday weekend would make things tough – people log off, and I get that donating to our campaign might not be top of mind.
But this is worse than we expected, and now we're 6 days into the month and already not where we’d like to be.
This is serious, folks: Unlike my billionaire opponent, I rely on grassroots supporters like you to fuel this campaign. In fact, while Vivek Ramaswamy wrote himself a $25 million check, our average donation is around $25.
I’m proud that this team is made up of tens of thousands of fired-up grassroots supporters who care about flipping Ohio blue. But that means that in situations like this, when we need to make up a fundraising gap as quickly as possible, we need all hands on deck.
Because the difficult truth is we have zero room for error: Polls show us neck-and-neck with our self-funding opponent, and he’s spending record-breaking amounts to attack me with nasty ads.
That's why I have to ask: Before midnight, will you chip in $10, $25, or anything at all to help us make up for this slowdown and win in Ohio?
