My name is Daniel Cameron. I’m a 34-year-old Republican and I’m the first African-American attorney general in the history of Kentucky.
For too long, Democrats have taken voters who look like me for granted. And that was my message to Joe Biden at the RNC:
“I often think of my ancestors who fought for freedom. And when I think of those giants and their broad shoulders, I also think of Joe Biden, who says, if you don’t vote for me, “you’re not black.” Who argued that the Republicans would put us back “in chains.” Who says there is no “diversity” of thought in the black community.
Mr. Vice-President, look at me, I am black. We are not all the same, sir. I am not in chains. My mind is mine. And you can’t tell me how to vote because of the color of my skin.”
I’m honored to have spoken at the Republican National Convention in support of President Donald Trump.
But I wouldn’t be where I am today without the support of another great conservative leader, and fellow Kentuckian, Senator Mitch McConnell.
