Dear,
Representative Katie Porter has just shut down Trump's megadonor
postmaster general.
The rock-star member of Congress gave Louis DeJoy a pop quiz about the
post office, and DeJoy failed miserably, highlighting just how little he
knows about the 245-year-old agency he's trying to destroy.
Rep. Porter already showed herself to be a hero when she committed the CDC
to provide free coronavirus testing, and now she’s held DeJoy accountable.
We need her in Congress to fight for us, along with the other Courage
California champions who are fighting to win their seats this November.

During DeJoy's testimony, Porter asked the chief of the post office how
much a postcard stamp costs. How much it costs to mail a greeting card.
How many people voted by mail in the last presidential election. He didn't
know the answer to any of those questions.
And when DeJoy tried to claim that plans to overhaul the US Postal Service
were in place before he was put in charge, Porter nailed him to a wall,
drilling him about whose plans they were and why he kept them in place
when they weren't working.(1)
Thanks to Katie Porter, DeJoy didn't get away with snowing Congress and
the American people into believing that he cares about fixing the US
Postal Service. And she made him admit he had no plan for fixing the
damage he’s done.
Right now, people are waiting weeks to receive their mail. More than 600
mail-sorting machines have been shut down, and postal carriers' routes
have been cut.(2) We need Rep. Porter in Congress to keep fighting to save
the post office from Trump’s lackey.
And it's not just Rep. Porter's seat that is at risk. Our Courage
California voter guide highlights candidates across the state who will
fight for the rights of our most vulnerable communities, and we need to
make sure that guide is in front of as many people as possible before
November.(3)
