Yesterday, we celebrated 250 years of American freedom.

Today, we protect it.

Because here's what didn't happen while we were watching fireworks: the
extremists didn't take a break. The school board candidates backed by MAGA dark
money didn't stop organizing. The curriculum censors didn't pause. The book
banners didn't rest.

They never do. And that's exactly why we can't either.

The most patriotic thing we can do the day after Independence Day is return to
the work of making America's promise real — for every student, in every
classroom, in every zip code.

If you believe — as we do — that freedom requires an educated public, then
