Waking up every day to watch this administration dismantle our democracy piece by piece is absolutely infuriating.
And honestly, we don’t have the luxury of playing nice and waiting around for the rest of the Democratic Party to wake the hell up. Not when the fights we’re up against are this dire.
Trump is waging an illegal war in Iran that has already cost Americans an estimated $30 billion and counting. Gas is getting higher by the minute, grocery bills keep climbing, and millions of people can’t afford to go to the doctor. Working families are being left to survive a corrupt political system that continues to put the wealthy and powerful first.
This is the moment to go all in. We have to fight back on every front, with every tool at our disposal, and do more than just react. We have to build.
That means organizing against the most vulnerable Republicans and making it clear that there is a real political price to pay for enabling Trump’s dangerous agenda.
It means primarying asleep-at-the-wheel Democrats — because if they’re not fighting with us, they’re in the way.
And it means we have to turn the fracturing of Trump’s base into an opportunity — because young voters are souring on him, they’re feeling betrayed, and the window to offer them a vision worth believing in is right now.
Most importantly, we need to throw all of our support behind the leaders who feel the urgency of this moment in their bones and a fire in their belly to take on the broken system they grew up in, and change it.
That’s what Leaders We Deserve was built for. Not to be just another political organization throwing endorsements around.
