As July Fourth came and went, we marked not only our nation’s 250th anniversary, but also the one-year anniversary of the Working Families Tax Cuts, which continue to put money directly back into the pockets of hardworking Americans.

President Trump and House Republicans delivered tax relief for millions of American households across the country. The numbers speak for themselves: 97% of filers received a tax cut this past filing season.

The Working Families Tax Cuts do not stop there. Americans have also benefited from: 

• No tax on overtime;
• No tax on tips;
• An increased standard deduction; and
• An expanded Child Tax Credit.

As we celebrate America’s 250th birthday, we can also recognize a year of putting hardworking Americans first and ensuring they keep more of the money they earn. I am proud to serve as the voice of North Carolina’s Eighth District and to fight for policies that strengthen our communities, reward hard work, and expand opportunity for every family.
