Victory, friend! Last night, the Supreme Court of Virginia ruled in Mayor Stoney's favor, barring an injunction that tried to stop the city from removing its remaining Confederate statue.
Now we can finish what we started, since Levar already removed nearly all city-owned Confederate statues in Richmond. This ruling means these statues of a bygone era of injustice and hate are gone for good.
All we can say is: Thank you, next.
Removing these statues proves that progress and change are possible. We are no longer the capital of the Confederacy, and Levar is working instead to make Richmond the capital of compassion.
This was only the first step of many, friend. We have a lot more work ahead of us. Rush a donation today before our end-of-month deadline on Monday at midnight to help Levar keep fighting.
