We did it! Mark is on the ballot for US House in TX-24! Our volunteer crew knocked on the doors of approximately 7,000 voters to collect signatures in the Texas heat during the first two weeks of August, and we were amazed by the positive responses we received from people eager to support a different option when it comes time to vote on November 3.
But we need your support to keep Mark in the game all the way through Election Day. Grab a Bauer for Congress campaign tee and let everyone know you think independently outside the confines of the two-party system. Every purchase is a donation to Mark's campaign, so when you order one you'll also keep us in the field connecting his message of inclusivity with voters. You won't regret it: Mark's logo is fire and the shirts are as comfy as the relief of finally for once voting your heart.
To recap the last two weeks:
-The Fort Worth Star-Telegram ran a story on Mark getting on the ballot as an Independent and how petition-signers responded: "Explaining that neither party has a monopoly on good ideas, their faces light up."
-You don't need to worry about the absence of policy platforms elsewhere in politics: with the signature drive behind us, Mark, Aida, and I are compiling policy briefs. Check out the first one on why Congress needs to create a pathway to citizenship for Dreamers.
-Finally, this week marked 100 years of women's suffrage. As Mark wrote in a Political Reframe, empowering women empowers men too.
Stay independent,
Caleb Paxton
Campaign Manager
PS: There really is something happening down in Texas, thanks to you all. See you on the trail!
