Hello, True Texans!
Is it just me, or does anyone else get teary-eyed during the National Anthem? That one line, "...does that star-spangled banner yet wave?" gets me every time. I can imagine the soldiers eagerly looking for that flag and then feeling hope when they see it blowing in the wind. As I sing, I feel so happy for them and proud of our nation. Then I immediately ask myself, "What will it be like when it doesn't still wave? How much time do we have?" So my blurry vision is a mix of both happy and sad tears. When I say, "God, bless America," it is a heartfelt prayer, because I have a daughter that needs a place to raise a family. Don't you feel the same? I know you do.
In light of NY Mayor Mamdani saying America's exceptionalism comes from immigration, I have two things you might enjoy reading.
Rush Limbaugh wrote an incredible historical fiction series for kids about a time-traveling horse named Rush Revere. In the preface, he talked about what American Exceptionalism is. You can read it here.
One of the speakers for our conference is the Director of White Papers Policy Institute. They put this eye-opening timeline on social media. (psst... WPPI is speaking at our conference so get your ticket!)
I don't know about you, but I'm not tired of celebrating America yet! Here are two more opportunities you don't want to miss:
THIS SATURDAY!!! Only 15 seats left for our "Still Swingin'" 250th birthday bash with a big band, swing dancers, bagpipes, color guard, military recognition, and a visit from Ben Franklin! And... we'd love it if you'd dress for the occasion. Maybe you have military attire representing your time in service. Or this could be your chance to replicate Rosie the Riveter and show off your strength!

I know one gal is wearing a fun flapper dress. As the host of this shindig, I'll be in a USO Hostess ensemble, and I'm pretty sure my daughter has a period piece she's putting together for her and her beau. But if you don't decide to dress the Americana theme, at least wear our 2026 Year of the Patriot tshirt. You can buy one at the event, or email [email protected] to pick one up at her house in Ft Worth. They are $20. (You can also buy shirts online for $33, but they won't arrive in time for Saturday's party). Also, if you cannot afford the $5 party ticket (kids are free), just reply to this email.

Coming up! Take back America's classrooms! One of our leadership volunteers asked us to share this upcoming event for teachers. The Teacher Freedom Alliance is hosting their Teacher Freedom Summit in Dallas July 14-16. This seems like the alternative we so desperately need to TASB and to support good conservative educators. They're offering it at an amazing price too. Check it out and report back!

Independence Day has long been my favorite holiday. The fireworks are great, but the freedom it stands for is even greater. I love how in 2026 we are celebrating all year long! USA! USA! USA!
