Yesterday, we celebrated the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment when women earned the right to vote and a seat at the table.
With this milestone in mind, it was humbling to reflect on the incredible progress we’ve made.
The Michigan House and Senate Democratic Caucuses have an equal number of men and women, the entire executive branch of our state government is led by women, and Kamala Harris may be the first woman vice president.
Two firsts for our state and a first for our nation.
On November 3rd, if we flip 4 House seats and elect a Democratic majority, we will again make history:
I’m proud to share with you that I have earned the support of my House colleagues to be the Michigan House Democratic Leader in 2021. This means that if Democrats take control of our state House, I will have the support to be our state’s first, female Speaker of the House.
Before that can happen, those 4 Democrats running to flip the House need our help. Can you give $25, $50, or $100 to help support them?
When Michigan’s 101st Legislature is sworn in in January 2021, we can make history in our state 101 years after the ratification of the 19th Amendment.

We hope that you are well and healthy during this very difficult time.
