On this Independence Day — America's 250th birthday — we're celebrating not
just the founding of a nation, but the promise that freedom isn't just for the
privileged few. That democracy belongs to everyone. And that an informed,
educated public is the only foundation on which it can stand.

That promise is now under direct attack.

Across the country, extremists are defunding public schools, banning books,
rewriting history, and pushing out the teachers who dare to tell the truth.
They understand something we must never forget: you cannot have an autocracy
with an educated public. That's why the fight for public education IS the fight
for American freedom.

MAGA-aligned extremists are deciding what counts as history based on their
agenda — not facts. When educators and parents push back, they're called
un-American. They're doing it because KNOWLEDGE IS POWER — and they want to
control what our kids know.

On this July 4th, Educated We Stand is asking you to invest in the promise of
America's next 250 years. Help us protect public schools, support fearless
educators, and defend the honest, full telling of our history — for every
child, in every classroom, in every corner of this country.
