Dear neighbor,

Happy 4th of July weekend! This week, I met with talented young scholars from the Cisneros Institute, the Ukraine Ambassador to the U.S., an organization championing our veterans and servicemembers, and spoke at a press conference with my fellow Democratic leaders. I also congratulated a long-time Covina Councilmember and CA-31 competitors in the National Speech and Debate Association National Tournament on the House floor.

This July, we celebrate Disability Pride Month! To everyone living with physical and mental disabilities in CA-31 and across our country, I’m proud to champion your right to live in a society built on equity, inclusion, and accessibility for all.

Yes
No
Taking this survey will sign you up for future news and updates from our office.

This week, I met with a group of talented young scholars from the Caminos al Futuro program at the Cisneros Institute. I always enjoy connecting with our next generation of latino leaders and supporting their educational journey.

I also joined my Democratic colleagues to call on Secretary Hegseth to reinstate flu vaccine mandates for our servicemembers. The recent flu outbreak at Lackland Air Force Base could have been easily prevented if Secretary Hegseth had not been so short-sighted.

I was honored to be with the Ukraine Ambassador to the U.S., Olga Stefanishyna, to honor the 30th anniversary of the signing of their Constitution this week. I’m proud to celebrate the day Ukraine officially became a sovereign, independent, and democratic state. I’ll always support our Ukrainian allies.

Additionally, I met with the CEO of Operation Homefront, Alan Reyes. We discussed the importance of funding critical financial assistance and housing programs for our veteran and military families. I'm proud to support an organization that works so tirelessly to support our servicemembers.

This week, I honored Covina Councilmember John King for 30 years of serving his community on the House floor. John, thank you for serving Covina with love for your community and care for others.

I also congratulated outstanding CA-31 students on multiple top 10 finishes at this year’s National Speech and Debate Tournament. We had 28 talented orators representing CA-31 on the national stage. We are so proud of your accomplishments.
