Friends,
The public survey for Fairfax County’s first-ever Community-wide Energy and Climate Action Plan (CECAP) is open!
Click here to access the survey. It is available in English, Spanish, Korean, and Vietnamese.
Only 3 percent of greenhouse gas emissions in the county come from local government and school operations. The rest are from cars and trucks on our roads, energy use in our homes and businesses, waste management processes, and other community sources.
CECAP—a plan for reducing greenhouse gas emissions county-wide, across all sectors—is one way we can spare our families, friends, neighbors, and future residents of Fairfax County the most extreme consequences of climate change and set the stage for a healthy, safe, and prosperous community.
Our ask is simple: Participate in the survey and invite 5 of your friends to participate.
Let the county know you want to see net zero greenhouse gas emissions across Fairfax County by 2040, with an interim goal of an 80% reduction in emissions by 2035. Let them know you want to see a climate plan developed and implemented in an equitable way, with meaningful input from low-income communities and communities of color across the county.

Your participation in this short public survey about CECAP is vital. We need everyone to participate in the survey to bring equity to this process. We need everyone to participate to ensure that the plan the Task Force ultimately approves reflects the diverse needs and resources of residents across Fairfax County.
You have a voice in this process, and your voice is essential.

Thank you, everyone!
