In these challenging times for everyone, we hope you are keeping safe and well.
We have not sent an online fundraising appeal in some time as we are mindful of the many pressures everyone has been under as a result of the widespread international disruption caused by the Covid-19 crisis.
Notwithstanding the disruption, we have been very active in recent months on multiple fronts - with the help of volunteers and supporters like you - all over the country.
You can watch the short video below for an outline of some of our project and initiatives since Ireland’s new abortion regime came into effect on 1st January 2019.
The urgency and importance of this continued work became tragically evident again recently with the official release of the number of abortions carried out in Ireland in the first full year following repeal of the Eighth Amendment.
6,666 abortions were carried out in Ireland in 2019, up from 2,879 the previous year. This number rises to 7,041 when you include the 375 women with an Irish address who underwent abortions in Britain in the same year. It amounts to a devastating loss of life. Very quickly we produced a video highlighting the huge numbers which reached over 100,000 viewers on Facebook within a week.
But there is so much more to do to get this information to the wider public, our political representatives and our young people. They have to know about the appalling impact of repeal on women and their unborn babies.
And there are signs of hope! The huge jump in the number of reengaged pro-life volunteers makes goals that once seemed unattainable, suddenly look realistic. That’s the upside of staying focussed and never giving up, even when things appear at their darkest.
Thanks to your incredibly generous support in recent years, we have been able to lay the groundwork for future successes. We are particularly grateful to our regular donors and ask you to continue to stand with us.
This has been a very difficult period financially for the Pro Life Campaign. Could you donate something today to help us continue our important work?
Thank you in advance for anything you can afford, however small and thank you for your continued commitment to Ireland's unborn babies and their mothers.
