** On to the General Election in November!
------------------------------------------------------------
A Note from Tessa Lynn Hodge
We did it.
Because of you, we are headed to November.
To every person who donated, volunteered, knocked doors, made phone calls, sent a text, shared a social media post, put up a yard sign, or simply told a friend or family member about this campaign, thank you. This victory belongs to every single one of you.
We didn't have the biggest machine. We didn't have unlimited money. What we had was people. People who believe our district deserves a representative who will fight for working families instead of special interests.
And together, we earned our place in the general election against Jay Obernolte.
Now the real fight begins.
I'm not going to pretend the road ahead is easy. It isn't. We're taking on an incumbent with deep pockets and powerful allies. Every attack ad, every misleading mailer, and every attempt to convince voters that change is impossible is coming our way.
But I've never backed down from a fight worth having.
As a social worker, I've spent my career standing beside people during the hardest moments of their lives. I know what perseverance looks like. I know what resilience looks like. And I know what happens when ordinary people decide they've had enough and refuse to give up.
That's exactly how we're going to win.
This race is bigger than one congressional district. California has the opportunity to help determine the balance of power in Congress. At a time when voting rights have been weakened and districts across the country are becoming harder to compete in, every seat we flip matters. Every conversation matters. Every volunteer shift matters. Every dollar matters.
We can flip this district, but only if every one of us shows up.
I want to give a special thank you to my incredible team both past and present: Alex, Denise, Jack, Isaac, Jim, Stasik, Jay, and Stephanie. You've poured your hearts into this campaign, and I am endlessly grateful for your commitment, your sacrifice, and your belief in this movement.
To my husband, Andrew, thank you for being my rock through every late night, every early morning, every setback, and every victory. You've believed in me from day one, and I couldn't ask for a better partner in this journey or in life.
I also want to thank Alexis Claiborne, Paul Chakalian, Edwin Alonzo, Pat Wallis, and Karen Matthews. Running for office is never easy. It takes courage to put your name on the ballot and fight for what you believe in. While we were competitors during the primary, our shared goal remains the same: giving this district the representation it deserves. I appreciate the work each of them and their supporters put into this race, and I look forward to working together to flip this seat.
Today we celebrate.
Tomorrow we organize.
We knock more doors.
We make more calls.
We register more voters.
We tell our story in every corner of this district.
We outwork the opposition.
And in November, we make history.
If you've been waiting for the moment to jump in, this is it.
Let's build the campaign that nobody thought was possible.
Let's shock the political establishment.
Let's flip CA-23.
Let's send a social worker to Congress.
Let's win.

Primary Results
“Hodge runs as the broad Democratic alternative, topping most groups Obernolte cedes: she leads among Asian (59%), Black (51%), Latino (43%), young, renter voters, and registered Democrats. Her coalition is notably more diverse than her 21.6% topline implies, suggesting she consolidated the anti-Obernolte vote across nearly every non-White, non-senior segment.” ~Summary from PDI (Political Data Intelligence)
Welcome to the team, Jim!
Jim will be serving as our Redlands/Loma Linda field coordinator. He will be working to identify volunteers and community events for the campaign to attend, setting up canvassing opportunities, and more! If you are interested in becoming a field coordinator in your area, please email

Please, help us get my Candidate Statement in the Voter Guide
We have to raise another $15,000 for the Candidate statement in the voter guide for the general election. Altogether that means the campaign has to pay $30,000 to have candidate statements in the voter guides. This is further evidence of why, so often, only the wealthy are able to run for and win offices. We are not wealthy, so it is only because of the support of my community that we have made it this far.
