Dear John,

Our research is in.

Best for Britain publishes their Affordable Food Deal report, warning more families will be plunged into food poverty if prices rise.

You can read our report here. <[link removed]>

We’ve combined our extensive research into the regional impact of Brexit and the coronavirus recession, to understand how this new food tax would affect different regions of the UK.

An independent report recently published by a cross-party group of MPs agrees with our concerns.

They warned that while the UK's food supply chains had held up during the COVID-19 pandemic, leaving the EU without a good deal this year could"pose potentially greater challenges". <[link removed]> Already during lockdown, the number of people using food banks quadrupled.

We can avoid making a shameful situation worse. Sign the petition calling for an Affordable Food Deal to stop the rise of food poverty.

Without this deal, a perfect economic storm is on the horizon, pulling already struggling families into food insecurity, debt and ill-health – and piling additional, terrible pressures on the many who are already wrestling with food insecurity. <[link removed]>

Best wishes,

Cary Mitchell,
