Dear Patriots,
As we head into this Fourth of July weekend to celebrate 250 years of American independence, I am filled with an immense sense of pride and gratitude.
Having been born in Colombia and adopted by a Minnesota family as a child, I have received all of the blessings of freedom and opportunity that America has to offer. I was educated here, achieved success in business, and currently have the privilege of serving as your voice in the State Legislature. Most importantly, I am surrounded by a loving family. I have done my best to instill in my children the values of freedom, hard work, and self-determination that have elevated the United States into the greatest country in the world.
Thanks to many great Americans and those who have served and protected her, my story is proof that the American Dream remains alive and well.
To our military and first responders, I thank you for your courage and sacrifice.
I wish you a wonderful weekend surrounded by loved ones in celebration of freedom, independence, and this amazing milestone for our nation!

I have been enjoying my time back in the district and the opportunity to connect with many of you. Spring was packed with local events: the Father's Day Fly-In Breakfast, Elko Fire Rescue Days, the Lakeville Hockey Golf Tournament, City Council updates, Special Olympics support, and many fun graduation parties. Reach out if you have an event you would like me to attend.
The way that our community rallies together for so many important causes is a reminder that it is our shared values that make our area such a special place to live.
Next week, the America 250 celebrations continue with Panorama of Progress, A.K.A. "Pan-O-Prog" or "Pan-O!"
Be sure to keep an eye out for me throughout the week, as I am also celebrating my birthday on July 4!
