The Year to Celebrate

The Village's Oswego250 Celebration is almost here, bringing a full day of patriotic fun as Oswego celebrates America's 250th birthday and a major milestone in the community's history. Join us Saturday, July 4, from 3:30 to 9 p.m. at Prairie Point Community Park, for live music, historical exhibits, family activities, local food vendors and a spectacular fireworks show choreographed to music beginning shortly after 9 p.m.

Families can enjoy free activities in the KidzZone, including laser tag, archery tag, gaga ball and live magic performances throughout the afternoon. Guests can also explore Oswego's history through photos and artifacts and grab a bite to eat from a variety of local favorites before the evening fireworks. The event will be held rain or shine. If weather prevents the fireworks display on July 4, it will be rescheduled for July 5.

While visiting, be sure to stop by Liberty Grove, a lasting tribute to America's 250th anniversary and one of the newest additions to the park. Featuring 50 newly planted trees representing each state, Liberty Grove celebrates the diversity, unity and shared history of our nation while creating a place for future generations to gather, learn and reflect. The Village extends its appreciation to Fields on Caton Farm for helping select and source tree species that represent each state and will thrive in our local environment.

June Business of the Month - Benny's Place

June 2026 BOTM [ [link removed] ]

The Village of Oswego and the Economic Development Commission are proud to recognize Benny's Place as the Oswego Economic Development Commission’s Business of the Month for June 2026.

Located at 1158 Douglas Road in the Mason Square shopping center, Benny’s Place has been a staple of the Oswego dining scene for more than 13 years. Family-owned and operated by owner Benny Garcia, the restaurant is known for its welcoming, “like family” atmosphere and its focus on hearty breakfast and lunch comfort staples, including signature “Famous Benedicts,” creative omelets, burgers, and gourmet coffees.

Throughout its time in Oswego, Benny’s Place has remained actively involved in the community. The restaurant is a long-time member of the Oswego Area Chamber of Commerce and regularly supports local schools by donating and providing catered breakfasts for Oswego and Oswego East High Schools. Benny’s Place also contributes to public safety through ongoing support of Oswego Police Union 516.

We congratulate Benny’s Place on being selected as the June 2026 Business of the Month and thank them for their continued dedication to the Oswego community.
