For many of our candidates running for office, it has dramatically shaped the campaign landscape in ways they could not predict or plan for.

Facing this challenge is especially difficult for first-time candidates just getting started.

That's why we're so proud of our Run to Win campaign, which helps support over 55,000 pro-choice Democratic women who have told us they want to run for office one day — most at the state or local level. We were ready on day one of this crisis to offer the resources, advice, and tools our women would need to adapt.

Being a first-time candidate is hard under the best of circumstances, but operating a campaign entirely virtually is new for everyone. These women inspire me every day because they're not giving up — they're leaning in.

And if they're leaning in, so are we. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, we've operated 100% virtually and we've grown our online training program tenfold.

We send advice to these women over email, text, and social media. We read their Facebook posts and connect them to others struggling with the same challenges. And we hold as many online training opportunities as possible to give their campaigns the answers they seek.

We need these women in decision-making rooms. They're your neighbors, your teachers, your doctors, and more — they're your community.
