LA Times: “RNC speakers paint California as a dangerous dystopia”

Team,

The Republican Party has gone full Trump. At the Republican National Convention this week, right-wing party activists are trying to re-write reality:

They are falsely portraying President Trump as leading during the coronavirus crisis, claiming failed Wall Street handouts have somehow helped working families, and attacking California by painting us as some sort of “dangerous dystopia!”

California is a “dangerous dystopia?” Our state is more like the land of opportunity.

In California, we believe science over fiction. We believe in facts over lies. And we believe that every person should have access to the American promise — that if you work hard and play by the rules, you can earn the chance to get ahead.

That’s why California began 2020 as the 5th largest economy in the world, and why we will continue to drive progress for the nation well into the future.

The real “dangerous dystopia?” Four more years of a Donald Trump presidency. Xavier has already had to sue Trump nearly 100 times — we can’t afford four more years of this lawlessness. Can you stand with us today, team?

Thank you,

Team Becerra
