*There is a double standard in American politics that deserves to be called out.*
After slavery, Black Americans had to fight to be recognized as full citizens in the country they were born in.
The 14th Amendment was written to make sure politicians could never again deny American citizens their rights, dignity, or equal protection under the law.
That history matters.
But today, many of the same *political voices* that claim to care about justice and fairness are using birthright citizenship as a political shield — not for the American families the 14th Amendment was written to protect, but to defend policies that strain our schools, hospitals, housing systems, public resources, and rule of law.
That is not *compassion*.
That is *political* power.
I believe citizenship is sacred because America is sacred. Our Constitution matters.
Equal protection matters. The rule of law matters. And American families should never be pushed to the back of the line while politicians refuse to have an honest debate about immigration, citizenship, and national sovereignty.

*This is not about denying humanity to anyone.*
It is about protecting the meaning of citizenship, securing the rights of Americans, and making sure our laws serve the people they were written to protect.
Black Americans born here had to fight to be recognized as full citizens.
*That history should not be exploited by politicians* who now refuse any discussion about common sense reforms.
In Congress, I will fight for constitutional principles, secure borders, equal protection under the law, and policies that put American citizens first.

And we need leaders who will protect the rights of American families instead of using them as political talking points.
