Dear Faithful Friend,
250 years ago, our forefathers declared that we are endowed by our Creator
with certain unalienable rights.
They were making it clear not only to King George III but to the world that
America was not going to be just another country.
She was born instead of a moral purpose – a recognition that liberty is a gift
solely from the God who gave us life, and that this nation would stand or fall
depending on whether we remained anchored to Him.
That idea was radical in 1776, it remains radical today, and defending that
God-given liberty on the battlefield is something I’ve dedicated my life to.
Over the course of my nearly 40 years in uniform, I served in Vietnam, was an
original member and eventual commander of Delta Force, commanded our special
operators in Mogadishu during Black Hawk Down, hunted Pablo Escobar in the
jungles of Colombia, and led the capture of dictator Manuel Noriega in Panama.
It’s been the honor of my life to serve amongst heroes willing to bleed and
die to protect the liberties given to us by God. And yet, I can’t take my mind
off the more than 388 million poor souls across this planet who are being
hunted, imprisoned, and killed just for practicing the same faith that shaped
this country from its beginning.
In Nigeria, more than 100,000 Christians have been massacred since 2009, their
churches burned, their families driven into displacement. In Sudan, churches are
being bombed and survivors are being crucified. In North Korea, owning a Bible
means a lifetime in a labor camp. In China, pastors are disappearing into
re-education camps. And across nearly a dozen Muslim-majority nations, the law
itself mandatesdeath for anyone who leaves Islam and embraces Christ.

So as we mark this 250th anniversary, I am calling upon you to help make it a
moment of rededication. Not just to the ideals of the founding, but to the God
who made those ideals possible.
If America is to carry her purpose into the next 250 years, I believe it will
be because the Body of Christ rose up, remembered who it was, and refused to be
silent.
There is no organization in this nation more committed to that fight than Save
the Persecuted Christians – where I am honored to serve as a board member.
Whether it’s thegrowing awareness of the active genocide against Nigeria’s
Christians (and recent U.S. action to help stop it), or the recent and very real
victories against the rise of sharia and Islamism here in America, it is due in
large part to the relentless advocacy and education campaigns of Save the
Persecuted Christians and the coalition of 200+ organizations they help to
guide.
Now I am asking you to be part of what comes next...
This summer – the summer of America's 250th birthday – Save the Persecuted
Christians is launching a national campaign to carry the message of persecuted
Christians into churches, communities, and the halls of government across this
country.
The goal is to raise $250,000 to fund that effort: educational events,
coalition action, and a sustained push to ensure that this summer's celebration
of American liberty is accompanied by a serious reckoning with what is
happening to Christians who have none.
That is the mission, and I am humbly but urgently asking you to help us meet
it.

The men who signed that Declaration in 1776 knew they were risking everything.
They did it because they believed the cause was worth it – because they
believed that what God had entrusted to them was not theirs to squander.
We are the heirs of that inheritance. And I believe our persecuted brothers
and sisters around the world are counting on us to honor it.
As we celebrate 250 years of God-given liberty, I pray that you will consider
making a generous, tax-deductible gift to Save the Persecuted Christians.
Your gift is not just charity. It is ammunition in the spiritual war. It is a
declaration that we will not surrender the moral purpose for which this nation
was raised up, and we will not abandon those who are paying the highest price
for the faith we still get to practice openly.
Please – do not set this aside. Make your gift today.
In His service,
Lt. Gen. (Ret.) William G. Boykin Member, Board of Directors Save the
Persecuted Christians
