Hey John,

A new generation of leadership is sweeping across the country, and Sunrise is helping build it. Last night, Colorado became the latest proof.

We just helped elect our first Gen Z member of Congress: Melat Kiros in Colorado’s First Congressional District.

This victory didn't happen by accident. It happened because thousands of young people organized for months to make it possible. And Sunrise was there from the very beginning.

Sunrise Movement Denver was the first organization to endorse Melat's campaign. Sunrise volunteers knocked more than 10,000 doors, made over 200,000 phone calls, and led canvasses that reached thousands more voters. Together, we built the people power that made this victory possible.

Melat's victory is the latest in what has become the most successful electoral cycle in Sunrise's history. Right now, we are on track to add seven new Sunrise-endorsed members of Congress in 2026. But we're not stopping here.

Across the country, voters are rejecting politics dominated by corporate power and choosing leaders who are ready to fight for working people, take on the billionaire class, confront the climate crisis, and speak with moral clarity.

In the months ahead, we're organizing to elect candidates like William Lawrence in Michigan, Justin Pearson in Tennessee, Donavan McKinney in Michigan, and Mai Vang in California — leaders who are refusing to compromise their values and are building a Democratic Party that fights for working people instead of corporate interests.

Because this movement has never been about electing one candidate.

It's about transforming who holds power in this country. It's about proving that organized people can beat organized money. It's about building a Democratic Party that answers to working people instead of corporate lobbyists and billionaire donors. And it's about showing an entire generation that politics doesn't have to be something that happens to us. It is something we build together to win the better world we believe is possible.

The future isn't waiting for us. We're organizing it.

Will you chip in today to help Sunrise elect the next generation of leaders who will take on corporate power, fight for working people, and never back down?

Thank you for being part of this fight.

In Solidarity,
