Right about now, my far-right opponent Lee Zeldin is getting ready to address the Republican National Convention.

For the past four years, Zeldin has pledged his allegiance to a president who sows nothing but division, hatred, and lies -- all for his own political gain.

First, he joined Trump at his dangerous Tulsa rally, and today my opponent is taking another step to advance his career as a Trump lackey. But my team is doing everything we can to meet tonight's fundraising goal so we can out-communicate and defeat this Trump-aligned, science-denying swamp creature and turn NY-01 blue in November. 

Lee Zeldin just made his first TV buy, so it is critical that we build the budget to compete over the airwaves!

Families in Suffolk County deserve better than a representative who spends his time and energy defending Trump and using his position in Congress to play partisan games. I wouldn’t reach out to you now if this weren’t so important. NY-01 has just been declared a top-targeted Red to Blue race, a poll from the DCCC shows me up two points against Zeldin, and our latest internal data show that when voters hear my message, we will earn their support and win. 

Hitting tonight's goal will mean we can defend ourselves against untrue hyperpartisan attacks and reach the voters we need to defeat Zeldin -- and ultimately prevent another two years of him putting his personal ambition ahead of facts, public health, and our safety. Hitting our goal will mean improving life on Long Island.

Zeldin has Trump and his corporate PAC friends with him every step of the way -- but we have you, folks who know that scientists need a seat at the table when policy is being decided in Washington.
