** Summer is officially here and I’m so excited. I love Colorado summers. The farmer’s markets, the patriotism, the county fairs… all of it. It’s also always meant young kids are out of school and older kids are home. I’m excited to spend some time with family in July, but want to recap all that kept this campaign busy in June first!

** Best, Eileen.

June was packed, in the best way. We were able to visit seven counties this month for various events and meet and greets. But I think one of the most impactful events of the month fell on the 16th. Congressman Jason Crow and I hosted a roundtable in Windsor with over 60 veterans. We discussed so many important topics including VA and healthcare issues, after service care, support groups, deployment, the current war in Iran, and national security. It’s so important that we talk with our veterans, and not just about them.

Another event that left a dramatic impression on me was the Wheat Field Days event in Akron hosted by the USDA and Colorado State’s Department of Agricultural Sciences. 85% of Colorado’s wheat crop comes from CO-04 and this year has been incredibly difficult for our famers with the drought. We need a comprehensive and supportive Farm Bill — it’s now three years overdue and Lauren Boebert still hasn’t done anything about it.

I was also able to visit another rural hospital in Kiowa County. Weisbrod Memorial County Hospital faces unsustainable operating margins and aging infrastructure on top of the looming federal Medicaid funding threats. The town of Eads and all of Kiowa County rely on Weisbrod and we must find ways to support these crucial facilities.

With the Colorado primaries yesterday, my family and I also cast our ballots! I loved practicing my civic duty with Chris and the kids!

One last thing I am always buoyed by every month is the many gatherings of community around the district and June, being the start of summer, was a month to remember with many picnics, festival kickoffs, and start-of-summer activities. I’m looking forward to more in July!

There is so much to look forward to in Colorado in the summer, and this summer is going to be a blast with the America 250 AND Colorado 150 festivities.

Colorado.com ([link removed]) has a comprehensive list of the activities happening around the state with more being added every day. Some of the ones I’m looking forward to the most include the 4th of July parade ([link removed]) in Highlands Ranch and the drone show at Bobstock ([link removed]) in Fort Morgan!
