A message from Lauren Weston, Acterra's Executive Director:
Dear Acterra Family,

We hope you are staying as safe as possible during these difficult times. We have Acterra members who are being affected daily by the fires spreading throughout California. Our hearts are with all those under evacuation orders, and we are working on using our resources to help staff, volunteers, and board members that are being impacted.

Acterra believes in creating solutions for a healthy planet, and our planet is hurting right now. Ecosystems are suffering, our neighbors are experiencing loss and grief, our air is thick with smoke, and we still face a long fire season ahead.

Below, we have compiled a list of resources to help you stay informed and plan to keep updating this information over the near future.
We have many partners working to restore and protect our open space and forests, work never more critical than this moment: Properly managed forests reduces the risk of wildfire. We have also been made keenly aware during our current pandemic of how open space nurtures mental health. Please learn about local efforts and help where and when you can.

Thank you for all you do for our local communities, and be well.

Lauren Weston
Executive Director
