Hi there folks,

In a “normal” year, the end of summer means we’re getting excited for the football season and the election around the corner.

This year, we’re all feeling very different things – concern for our children’s safety, unease that the colder weather will bring more COVID-19 cases, and fear that this football season and this Election Day pose threats to both our democracy and our public health.

I know that we can face these challenges and overcome the fears we feel today. And, like you, I’m hoping and praying that this time next year, the end of summer will again bring all of its usual joy.

If we want to get back to normal as quickly as possible, we have to be doing everything we can to protect lives, livelihoods, and democracy today.

In the face of a pandemic that’s claimed over 170,000 American lives, Mitch McConnell sent the Senate home rather than act on another relief bill. I want everyone to remember that.

If we really want to do something about this, we have to take McConnell head on. McConnell’s grip on power hinges on Alabama. He knows it, which is why he’s spending millions to try to beat me and prop up an unprepared former football coach who claimed he “wouldn’t have a clue” what to do about the COVID-19 crisis.

You’ve helped before, folks, and I’m asking for your help again. We really are in a virtual dead heat right now, and our momentum keeps growing. Anything you can contribute will help more than you know. >>[[link removed]]

If we work together, we can come out of this stronger than we’ve ever been – united as One Alabama and One America. That’s what I’m fighting for. Thanks for being with me.

With gratitude,
Doug Jones
