Over the past few nights, it has been sickening to watch Donald
Trump's shameless and illegal exploitation of the Office of the
Presidency and the official powers of the federal government in
the service of his re-election campaign. By using the White House
backdrop and Secretary of State Pompeo's official overseas trip
for purely political purposes, the Trump administration
demonstrated once again a blatant disregard for federal law and
established norms to advance his campaign.

Despite his concerted efforts to block immigrants from becoming
American citizens, last night Trump even used the White House and
federal employees to conduct an official naturalization ceremony
as part of a campaign stunt at the Republican National
Convention.

The entire production -- using the taxpayer-supported White House
and US government employees as an extension of his political
campaign -- reveals a total contempt for American voters and our
system of government.

Unfortunately, Trump's Senate enablers have made it clear that
he can violate the Constitution and engage in impeachable
behavior without consequences. That's why it's up to us to do
everything we can to Stop Trump and take back the Senate in
November. Pitch in what you can to help us beat Trump's GOP
before it's too late for our democracy!

Beyond Trump's ongoing abuse of office, the participation of a
sitting Secretary of State in this purely political event was a
violation of the Hatch Act -- the federal law that bans federal
employees from engaging in political activities when on official
duty.

Secretary Pompeo's disgraceful and unethical use of an official,
taxpayer-supported trip to deliver a divisive and partisan speech
at the Republican Convention, is topped only by the hypocrisy of
the fact that -- just one month ago -- State Department employees
received legal guidance, under the signature of Pompeo himself,
regarding adherence to the Hatch Act. The Secretary of State
clearly doesn't believe the same federal legal standards apply to
himself.

There is truly no bottom for the Trump administration or their
allies and enablers in the Senate. Rush a donation now to help
save our democracy by defeating them soundly in November!
