Friend,

Not a lot of candidates running for the U.S. Senate would share this, but let me tell you: I've been arrested a couple of times - and I'm proud of it.

Once was back in 2014 when I led a sit-in at the Georgia capitol for Medicaid expansion. Then, three years later, when the GOP tried to gut the Affordable Care Act and the Children's Health Insurance Program, I was arrested with several of my clergy colleagues for protesting in our nation's capital. And guess what? I don't regret a single thing, friend.

That's because I believe health care is a human right - and I'm happy to be arrested again if it means making sure every person has access to the care they need. With Republicans across the country continuing to attack our health care at every turn - in the midst of a pandemic, no less - I'm speaking out and fighting back as hard as I can, but I need to know you're with me.

Please, friend: If you believe as I do that health care is a human right, will you add your name alongside mine to demand Congress expand access to quality, affordable health care for every American?

When I peacefully protested the Republican health care bill in 2017, my objection was rooted in the belief that a budget is not only a fiscal document, but a moral document. So when our health care - our children's health care - was on the chopping block, I knew I couldn't sit on the sidelines any longer.

To this day, Trump and the GOP haven't stopped their immoral efforts to destroy the Affordable Care Act, block Medicaid expansion and strip health care from millions of Americans. If we're going to fight back against their attacks, I need folks like you by my side - but I still don't see your name.

Thanks for joining me in this fight,
