With the 2020 school year looking a little different for every family, it’s important to take care of those who rely on school meals.
I recently sent a letter to U.S. Department of Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue urging the USDA to continue providing flexibility to schools and sponsoring organizations for school meals and child nutrition. While in-person learning may not be available, it’s important that the USDA offer program flexibility to help provide meals to children on remote-learning days or when in-classroom learning is unavailable.
I remain committed to helping every family during this unprecedented time, especially every child in our great state of North Carolina.
