I'm running to flip Iowa’s Senate seat from red to blue -- and tonight, my Republican opponent is set to give a speech at the Republican National Convention. Before that happens, I hope you'll consider splitting a $10 donation between my race for U.S. Senate and the DNC to support candidates like me up and down the ticket. Now, lend me a moment to tell you exactly why your support before she speaks tonight is so important:

My opponent promised that she’d be different, but instead, Joni Ernst got to Washington and voted with Mitch McConnell and the national Republican establishment 97% of the time. She has the support of McConnell and powerful Republican donors -- many of whom are pouring money into attack ads against me and my campaign. I don't have to hear her speech tonight to know she's completely lost touch with the people of Iowa, John, and I need your support if we have any hope of defeating her and flipping the Senate this fall.

I’m a businesswoman, mom, and scrappy farm kid. And I know we can win. But the polls have us neck-and-neck, and I can't win this race on my own. We only have a few weeks left before the first early votes of this election are cast, so I have to ask:

Will you split a $10 donation between my campaign and the DNC today? The first step to flipping the Senate is winning this seat in Iowa, so I hope you’ll chip in what you can while there’s still time to make a difference in this race and races like it across the country.

This race is personal to me. When my first husband, a union electrician, died on the job, Social Security helped keep me and my two young boys out of poverty. So when I hear Mitch McConnell and Joni Ernst talking about gutting Social Security and Medicare, I can only think of the families like mine who depend on these programs to get by.

Sending Joni Ernst back to a GOP-controlled Senate would be a disaster. She’ll rubber stamp McConnell’s agenda instead of fighting for our rural communities, expanding access to health care, or strengthening the unions that build our middle class. We can’t let that happen, John, so I'm coming to you to ask if you'll chip in to my campaign today:
