Give to the Matching Gift Challenge Fund and make 2x the impact ▸ |
Yesterday in Afghanistan, flash floods killed over 100 people and destroyed hundreds of homes. Ongoing monsoons and landslides in India and Nepal have displaced millions. In Kenya, severe drought is disrupting food supplies. This is what the increased frequency and intensity of extreme weather events caused by climate change looks like. And it’s people living in poverty who suffer the most. Mercy Corps teams are on the ground across the globe helping families survive disasters, rebuild their communities and strengthen their resilience to climate change — now while also battling the impacts of the COVID‑19 pandemic. But to address these challenges we need every single one of you to join us. We need humanitarians like you to make a first gift today. No matter how much you are able to give, this moment is a chance to be part of something bigger. By donating, you can inspire others to follow your lead and match that gift, which can allow us to make twice the impact for families in need. We’ve set an ambitious goal of $72,000 toward our Matching Gift Challenge Fund — and with new supporters like you working together to ignite change, I know we can get there. When a powerful flash flood ripped through Aisah’s village in Java, Indonesia, it tore her house in half, washing away everything she owned. The widowed mother of two struggled to provide even the most basic essentials for her children, like clean drinking water.
In the immediate aftermath of the flood, Mercy Corps was there to provide emergency supplies. Our team worked with the community to install water points so that they have a constant source of clean water as they rebuild. This is the kind of impact that your gift can have. Make a contribution to the Matching Gift Challenge Fund today. When other donors step up and follow your lead, we can go twice as far to provide lifesaving work around the world. Thank you, as always, for being a part of our incredibly generous community. With gratitude, Adrienne Karecki, Mercy Corps Chief Development and Marketing Officer |
