The Boundary Waters is at risk

Dear John,

This week, the Boundary Waters Action Fund (the political arm of the Campaign to Save the Boundary Waters) published a report revealing the brazen corruption of the Trump Administration as it fast-tracks the Twin Metals mine, a proposed sulfide-ore copper mine on the edge of the Boundary Waters.

Since day one, the Trump administration has made selling out the clean water and irreplaceable legacy of Minnesota’s Boundary Waters Wilderness a top priority. They have weakened environmental laws, refused to release studies, and cancelled reviews that would provide critical information on how sulfide-ore copper mining would affect the Boundary Waters Wilderness.

Foreign mining company Antofagasta, which owns Twin Metals, has its own history full of corruption, including bribery and tax fraud. Antofagasta’s owner is also Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump’s landlord – a glaring conflict of interest.

We cannot let this stand.

Take the pledge to vote for candidates who will permanently protect the Boundary Waters from foreign interests and corrupt officials, then triple your impact and send the pledge to three friends who don’t want to see the Boundary Waters sold out.

For the Wilderness,

Alex Falconer
Director, Boundary Waters Action Fund
